Our Team
Dr. Sumit Mittal
Senior Assistant Professor
Dr. Sumit Mittal completed his Ph.D. in Computational chemistry from Max-Planck-Institute für Kohlenforschung, Germany. Prior to this, he completed a 5-year Integrated BS-MS program in Chemistry from IISER Mohali, India. He has many publications in reputed International journals. His research focuses on applications of multi-scale molecular modelling and large-scale computer simulations to gain insights into the structural properties of biological systems, such as protein-ligand interactions, protein-protein interactions involved in neurological diseases.
Dr. E. Nirmala
Senior Assistant Professor
Dr. E. Nirmala received her doctorate from Anna University in Chennai, Madras Institute of Technology Campus. She has been a teacher in the academic profession for more than 18 years. Worked as an assistant professor, associate professor, and HOD for numerous institutions. She is an expert in big data analytics, cloud security, and layered security. She is currently working on a project to protect people in Assam's drowning river water with a team of students. She has led numerous faculty development programmes and seminars funded by ISTE and Anna University.
Our Journey
Founded by Ph.D. scholars, PAHAL established the core structure of community teaching, creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn and grow.
The Batch of 2022 formalized academic sessions and strengthened volunteer participation, making the initiative more structured and consistent.
Expanded outreach through colony visits and awareness drives, successfully bringing more children into mainstream education.
Introduced activity-based learning and the first PAHAL Carnival, celebrating joy while inspiring the next cohort.
Institutionalized impact through digital literacy and sustainable mentorship, bridging the gap between education and modern skills.

What started as a simple idea on our campus has grown into a family built on trust and shared learning. At PAHAL, we don't just teach; we bond. Our volunteers aren't just student-teachers—they are big brothers, sisters, and mentors who walk alongside these children to spark curiosity and build character.
